The project
When The Crown Estate set out to refresh its offices at 16 New Burlington Place (16NBP), the vision was clear, create a premium workspace that respects heritage while embracing modern performance. Designed by Trehearne and delivered by Parkeray, the project needed acoustic solutions that were as discreet as they were effective and aligned with Regent Street’s values of heritage, quality, style, and success.
With the industry striving toward Net Zero Carbon, this project aimed to build on the building’s pioneering legacy. Originally desgined as a BREEAM Excellent headquarters in 2006, 16NBP secured London’s first green lease and introduced innovations such as rainwater harvesting, combined heat and powers systems, photovoltaic panels, and recessed windows for solar shading—achieving 40% less energy use than a typical office of its size. This ethos of environmental responsibility set the tone for the refurbishment.
