The project
Rabobank’s London team set out to create a future-ready headquarters at 60 London Wall—a workplace designed to foster collaboration, flexibility, and employee wellbeing. The new space needed to balance open-plan zones with quiet focus areas, accommodate large gatherings, and reflect Rabobank’s deep commitment to sustainability.
Led by Sheppard Robson and Overbury, the project aimed to embody Rabobank’s values through every design detail. Autex Acoustics® partnered with the team to deliver bespoke acoustic solutions that met ambitious environmental and performance goals while complementing the refined architectural aesthetic.

The solution

Autex Acoustics delivered a tailored approach that addressed both acoustic and sustainability goals. Groove™ Stripe V1 panels (24 mm) in Empire and Savoye were installed across the walls, featuring 120 mm detailing to provide acoustic treatment and add architectural texture. Bespoke Horizon™ panels in Flatiron were suspended from ceilings to control reverberation in high-traffic zones. The bespoke ceiling and wall treatments enhance sound absorption while reinforcing spatial identity in teapoints, the Gather space (up to 85 people), and the Innovation Lab (up to 150 people) to create a space that is acoustically balanced and augments focus and connection.
Beyond acoustic performance, the products helped meet Rabobank’s sustainability commitments. Manufactured from a minimum of 80% recycled PET and certified carbon neutral, the Autex Acoustics solutions used in the project supported the building’s BREEAM and WELL targets. Every detail, from colour selection to panel configuration, was coordinated to enhance both functionality and aesthetics.
Close collaboration between Autex Acoustics, Sheppard Robson, and installer ILE ensured ease of integration with the architectural vision. The process involved detailed planning sessions, mock-ups, and on-site adjustments to make sure the solution was tailored to the space. This collaborative approach allowed the team to overcome complex acoustic challenges without compromising sustainability or design intent.
The result

Rabobank’s headquarters is now a dynamic, future-ready workplace where acoustic comfort and sustainability go hand in hand. Employees can enjoy spaces that adapt to diverse needs, from quiet focus zones to large-scale gatherings, without compromising environmental goals. The building stands as a benchmark for future focused, sustainable office design. The project team, in collaboration with Autex Acoustics, were able to achieve a solution that is as responsible as it is visually striking, proof that high-performance acoustic design can coexist with ambitious sustainability targets.
